The honest ManyChat alternative

ManyChat is a good product that got expensive for creators. In March 2026 its free plan dropped from 1,000 contacts to 25, and its paid plans still bill you per contact — so the better a post performs, the more you owe. DMChat does one slice of what ManyChat does, at a flat price that does not move when a reel takes off.

Where ManyChat is better than us

If one of these matters to you, stay where you are. We would rather you keep a tool that fits than churn out of ours in a month.

  • Visual flow builder — branching logic, conditions and delays that DMChat deliberately does not have.
  • Multi-channel. WhatsApp, Messenger, SMS and email all in one place. DMChat is Instagram only.
  • Integrations. Hundreds of them, plus a mature API and Zapier coverage.
  • Template ecosystem and a huge community of educators selling ManyChat flows.
  • Years of scale behind it. It is the category default for a reason.

What ManyChat users bring up most

A bill that went from $0 to $200 over a year without the product changing.

Surprise charges the month a post went viral.

Support replies taking four to five days.

The flow builder being overwhelming for someone who wanted one keyword to send one link.

AI features sitting behind a separate $29/mo add-on.

We have not invented any of these and we are not claiming they are universal — plenty of people are happy with ManyChat. They are the themes that come up often enough to be worth naming.

Moving over from ManyChat

  1. Connect Instagram

Official Meta login. We never see your password, and nothing about your existing setup changes.

  2. Rebuild your ManyChat flows

Pick a preset, or send us a screenshot of your ManyChat flow and we will rebuild it in your account by hand — free, for the first 100 people who ask.

  3. Turn the old one off

Switch your ManyChat automation off once a DM has landed from ours. Running both means the same person gets two DMs, which looks exactly as automated as it is.

Send us a screenshot. We will rebuild it for you.

Not a support ticket and not a sales call — you send a picture of the flow you have in ManyChat, and we set the same thing up inside your DMChat account. Free, done by hand, for the first 100 people who take us up on it.

Stay on ManyChat if…

  • You need branching logic, conditions or delays inside a conversation.
  • You run WhatsApp or Messenger alongside Instagram.
  • You depend on integrations or an API to move data into a CRM.
  • Your flows are already built and working, and the bill is not the problem.

Move to DMChat if…

  • Your whole use of ManyChat is "someone comments a word, send them a DM".
  • A viral post costing you money feels backwards.
  • You want the email captured in the DM instead of on a landing page.
  • You would rather have a person answer your support email this afternoon.

switching from manychat?

The questions we get asked

The simple ones, yes — and we will do it for you. Send us a screenshot of your ManyChat flow and we rebuild it in your account by hand, free, no strings. Comment-to-DM, keyword replies and lead capture all map over directly. Branching flows with conditions do not, and we will tell you that plainly rather than half-building it.

In March 2026 the free tier went from 1,000 contacts to 25. We cannot speak to their reasoning. What we can say is what we will not do: the DMChat free plan is 1,000 DMs a month, and every creator who signed up before we started charging keeps the launch limits permanently.

At the entry tier, ManyChat is $14/mo for 250 active contacts and DMChat is $15/mo for 30,000 DMs — $0.50 per thousand. The shapes are different — contacts versus DMs — but for a creator running keyword replies the practical answer is yes, by a wide margin, and the gap grows the more your posts perform. If you use flows, WhatsApp and integrations, you are buying a different product and the comparison does not really hold.

Both tools use the official Meta API — that is the only safe way to do this and neither of us cuts that corner. DMChat additionally paces sends with randomised human-like delays, throttles itself automatically when a post goes viral, and rotates reply variants instead of posting an identical comment hundreds of times.

Try it on one keyword before you move anything

Keep ManyChat running. Set up a single automation here, watch one DM land, and decide after that. 1,000 DMs a month is free forever — Pro is $9/mo locked for the first 99 creators.
