Key takeaways
  • Name the exact thing they get, not “more info”.
  • Put the keyword in the first line and on screen. Most people never open the full caption.
  • One keyword per post, short and easy to spell.
  • Tell them where it arrives: “it’ll be in your DMs”.

What the good ones have in common

A caption that gets keyword comments does three jobs in one line: it says what they get, the word to comment, and where the thing arrives. Everything after that first line is optional, because most viewers never tap “more”.

  • Specific beats vague: “the 7 shots I use for every product video” beats “my tips”.
  • The keyword is one short word in capitals, so it stands out and is hard to misspell.
  • It promises something they can use today, not a vague “link”.

Captions that don’t work

  • “Link in bio”: it adds two taps and a page load to get anything.
  • Two keywords on one post. People mix them up and get the wrong thing, or nothing.
  • Everyday words like “love” or “yes”. Everyone who types them gets a DM they didn’t ask for.
  • Hiding the keyword at the end of a long caption.

Questions

Should the keyword be in capitals?

It doesn’t matter for matching, since DMChat ignores capitals. Capitals just make it easier to spot in the caption and on screen.

Can I use an emoji as the keyword?

Yes. Emoji keywords work in DMChat, and they’re fast to type on a phone. Pick one that people won’t use by accident.

How many keywords should one post have?

One. A single word is easier to remember and keeps everyone getting the right message.
